Barbara Summer Club Cinema: 10 films to see for a colorful summer

Welcome to the Ciné Summer Club Barbara : discover our Summer Club Barbara filmography to offer you a sweet 80s vibe movie evening on your TV, a cocktail in hand , lit by the soft light of one of our magnificent retro 80s lamps , of course! Let's go!

- The Birdcage (1996): I rewatched this movie a few months ago and found some scenes absolutely hilarious. I preferred the American version of La Cage aux Folles for its colorful universe and its Florida Vibe. And then we love Robin Williams.

- La Piscine . A cult summer film and a sublime Romy Shneider, in this hot film from the end of the 60s that smells of the Côte d'Azur.

- Point Break (1991) Patrick, Keanu, THE wave, the board, the sand and the sun. Anything else?

- Pauline at the Beach (1988): Eric Rohmer's gentle contemplation of human relationships, under the sun of the Normandy coast. The kind of film that makes you happy.

- Weekend at Bernies (1988). Crazy, a forgotten 80s movie that deserves to be seen again for its crazy 80s Summer Vibe atmosphere.

- Malibu Express (1985). We watch it to immerse ourselves in the charm of the 80s: big yacht, big car and mustachioed guy who speaks loudly to ladies in (very) low-cut bikinis.
- Desperately seeking Susan (1985). We LOVE the decor of the typical 80s apartment, which is worth the detour in itself, so with Madonna in her eighties version on top, it's just bliss.

- My Father, This Hero (1991): we love Marie Gillain (almost) unbearable in the role of the cheeky and lying teenager. The soundtrack is a gem.

- Les nuits de la plein lune (1984): Eric Rohmer again, you might say, but the director has no equal when it comes to making human souls and love stories vibrate through the screen. A joy to watch Pascale Ogier evolve in the renovation of a small Parisian apartment and its 100% eighties decoration (decoration that the actress really influenced for the film). We love more than anything an absolutely delicious Fabrice Luchini. The soundtrack of Jacno is a gem!

Asteroid City (2023): the great Wes Anderson. A jewel of aesthetics and delicacy. Great cinema, a pleasure for the eyes and the heart.
