Since the 1980s, Bassano del Grappa, in the province of Vicenza, has established itself as one of the centers of Italian animal ceramics. This wall console is part of this tradition: shaped and enameled by hand, each piece from these workshops is by definition unique, the variations in material and patina inherent in manual work ensuring that no two pieces are strictly identical. The feline is rendered with realistic precision, in an orange ochre, ivory white, and black spot palette characteristic of leopard fur. The top shelf is crafted in a mottled green and yellow enamel, a direct reference to the tortoiseshell patinas prized in the Hollywood Regency style of the 70s and 80s. Signed "Made in Italy", it is a piece that will beautifully decorate a bedroom or living room wall.
