Sublime blown Murano glass Italian table lamp, cylindrical black and white striped base, conical white opaline glass shade, black lacquered metal base, circa 1980, height 32 cm. Original "Murano Originale Garantito" label.

There is something very postmodern about this lamp, recalling the iconic Memphis Design codes of eighties interiors: the Murano glass column, striped with intense black and milky white vertical bands using the blown cane technique, functions as a graphic piece on its own. The black lacquered metal base and the conical opaline glass shade, suspended on a chrome collar, diffuse a warm and soft light that reveals the veins of the glass from the inside.

The two-tone color, the geometric design of the base, the precision of the chrome and lacquer assembly: these are all characteristics that make this piece a collector's item in its own right, in line with what the most demanding Venetian workshops produced at the turn of the 1980s. The preserved original "Murano Originale Garantito" label confirms the artisanal authenticity of its manufacture. It will be superbly showcased on a console or vintage mirrored pedestal.
