A monumental decorative icon, this glazed ceramic Afghan Hound is a rare piece, the fruit of Italian craftsmanship and the refined selections of the House of Chaumette in Paris. Its elegant silhouette, both majestic and gentle, embodies the Hollywood Regency era's fascination with sculptural animals.

Made in the 1970s, this almost one-meter-tall sculpture reveals the appeal of the Afghan Hound breed at the time, and precise modeling: long strands of fur worked into the mass, a hand-painted nose, and expressive eyes that catch the light. Signed on the base Fait Main, Chaumette Paris and Made in Italy, it illustrates the meeting between Italian ceramic tradition (Bassano, Nove) and Parisian good taste.

Rare on the market, this type of greyhound stands out from panthers or big cats, and becomes a true collector's item.
