Memphis Design 80's
Born in Milan in 1981 under the impetus of Ettore Sottsass, the Memphis movement radically redefined design codes: interlocking geometric shapes, primary and pastel colors side by side, plastic materials and printed laminates, zebra or checkerboard patterns. A deliberate rejection of conventional good taste, in favor of an immediately recognizable visual language that has spanned decades without losing an ounce of its strength.
Club Barbara brings together a selection of pieces and objects directly from this now iconic movement: postmodern ceramics, lighting with geometric lines, multicolored tableware, abstract vases. These pieces were produced in the 80s, in France, Italy, Spain, or Northern Europe, by workshops and manufacturers who made postmodernism their language. For interiors that embrace color, form, and character.
