Large pastel marbled blown glass candy dish, Italy, 1980s
Free shipping on orders over €200.00
Superb Italian blown glass candy dish, dating from the 80s, large size (34 cm), a true display or collector's item with its pure lines, its sculpted lid topped with a spherical element, and deeply brilliant pastel blown glass.
The marbled decor reveals itself as a sublime glassblower's composition: patches of colors laid in the material, a macchie effect (cloudy pastel flat areas), and more mineral veined movements, a marmorino spirit. Soft pink, misty blue, cream, and pale yellow converse on a milky opaline base, with decorative micro-bubbles that signify the artisanal touch. Fully in the taste of artistic Murano glass of the era, this piece stands as a work of art: on a brass and glass console, in a bookshelf, or in the center of a mirror tray as a vase, where light can pass through and reveal its layers. To be paired with a vintage ceramic shell lamp, to extend the pastel palette and the Palm Springs eighties look.
