Italian iridescent mother-of-pearl ceramic table lamp, in the shape of a nautilus shell, with its original ivory moiré fabric half-moon lampshade with fringes, brass socket, circa 1970-1980.

The base is in the shape of a naturalistic shell, crafted from ceramic with a mother-of-pearl glaze with iridescent reflections, characteristic of Italian home furnishings from the 1970s. The relief modeling plays with light, making the surface vary between pure white and the rosy hues typical of luster glazes. The original brass socket testifies to the care taken in the finish. The half-moon lampshade in ivory moiré fabric, structured on a metal frame, is adorned with a double braided trim and a fine fringe around its entire wavy edge: a period passementerie rarely preserved in such condition. The ensemble forms a stylish object, whose quality of execution directly refers to the interior glamour of the Hollywood Regency years. Stamped Babuscio & Cacucci, complementi di arredamento, Italy.
