Murano style lamp La Murrina, Italy, 70s

Blown Murano glass and white and yellow lacquered structure for this incredible light fixture, a manifesto of seventies Italian design.

Please note: the base has a visible deformation on one side (see photos and detailed characteristics further down), which does not affect the stability or the brilliance of the piece.

The lampshade, with its spectacular draped glass shape, evokes a corolla in motion. The Murano glass reveals delicate swirls of pale yellow, pastel blue, and white, blending into the material with a subtlety typical of Murano workshops: each reflection changes with the light, giving the lamp a diffused and opalescent glow, accentuated by the 3 internal lights.

This rare piece seduces with the purity of its lines and the modernity of its silhouette, typical of Italian postmodern creations of the decade. The yellow ring, a sculptural element, accentuates the contrast and gives it a Memphis Design style blending boldness and elegance.
