Postmodern tea set, Florence, Italy, 1980s

Splendid 1980s Italian tea set in enamelled ceramic, signed lisolachenonce, a brand associated with the Florentine design world (Florence) of the era.

Pyramidal volumes and gilding immediately set the tone: an ultra-graphic postmodern aesthetic, a true aesthetic manifesto. The intense blue, worked in a glossy, almost lacquered enamel, and the geometric handles, punctuated with gilding, add that precious touch that changes everything on a table.

The palm tree and moon motif brings a typical Riviera signature, between Miami's Dolce Vita and a tale from the Arabian Nights. And on the three large pieces, the most desirable detail: the lid is highlighted by a delicate golden chain adorned with a star, like a piece of table jewellery, both delicate and theatrical.

The set consists of 6 cups and their saucers, a teapot, a milk jug, and a sugar bowl.

To note: some localized micro-chips, particularly on the lower corner of the teapot, and one saucer with a crack, visible in the photos.
