Bamboo ceramic console, Colin Morrow, Arpex Italy, 70s
Free shipping on orders over €200.00
A typical sunny piece of Riviera seventies design, this rare Italian console, dating from the 70s, is composed of a wooden structure covered with enameled ceramic modules, shaped in a bamboo pattern with superb shades of green. Its white braided top recalls the plant and tropical jungle aesthetic of Palm Beach, very much in vogue at the time.
This creation was produced by Arpex, an Italian company active in ceramic furniture and decorative objects in the 60s and 70s. It is attributed to the designer Colin Morrow, a creator whose work is characterized by naturalistic and decorative forms. Active in Italy during these years, Morrow collaborated with Arpex on pieces mixing wood and painted ceramic, whose bamboo, palm and foliage motifs have become emblematic of this style, highly sought after today.
A sculptural and charming piece, ideal for enriching an interior with a vintage touch, just like in 70s and 80s Florida.
